About Candle Snuffers and Wick Trimmers

Earth & Pure believe that preparing the wick before lighting a candle is very important for safer, cleaner, and longer-burning candles. Using Candle Snuffers to prevent wax spillage when extinguishing is very important to the longevity of the candles.

Why don't you review the daily care of your candles to make them last longer?

Candle snuffer

Candle snuffers have been used for centuries as a tool to extinguish candlelight more quickly and cleanly while preventing wax and debris from jumping around.

How to use:

Hold the handle so that the bell is directly above the candle light and lower it until the light goes out. Take care that the bell does not dip into the wax.
Keep the bell just touching the surface of the wax, and eventually a small puff of smoke will come out of the bell. The smoke is evidence that the flame has gone out, and the bell will be hot, so be careful not to touch it. If the bell gets wax on it, wait until it cools down before wiping the surface.

Wick trimmer (scissors for candles)

When using candles, wick trimmers make the light of candles brighter, less sooty, and more fragrant. By properly cutting the wick before lighting the candle, the candle can be used safely for a longer period of time. If the wick is too long, the light on the wick may be too large, or the wax in the candle may melt more quickly than necessary. Cutting the wick will allow the wax to melt more evenly and prevent soot from forming on the inside of the ceramic. The shorter the length of the wick and the shorter the distance from the wax, the stronger the candle's fragrance.

How to use:

Before using the candle, make sure the wax is at room temperature and cut the wick each time before lighting. (Cutting is not necessary before lighting the candle for the first time after purchasing it.)
① Make sure the wick trimmer blade is level with the wax.
②  Cut only the black part of the wick (the burned part), aiming to leave a length of about 5 mm.
③ Discard the cut portion, light the candle, and enjoy the fragrance.
